Benchwork completed last week. The benchwork is at 48" high and runs as a 2' shelf around the room. It will have a drop-in bridge that makes a continuous loop for running trains.
My HO model railway is based on Stephen King's fictional world of the town of Derry, Maine as well as having some shout-out scenes from his other novels and short stories. This blog will track the progress of the building of the model railway layout.
The railway runs Maine Central, Guilford and CN freight trains out of the yard in Derry, Maine. The layout starts in the west with the freight yard and proceeds out of the yard into the town of Derry, then across a high viaduct crossing a river valley with waterfall , through a more rural area and across a river using a double track truss bridge heading east.
A tourist train runs out of Derry using old New Haven and CN RDC cars.
The layout uses a duck-under to connect for continuous running, and is using DC, with the yard zone separate from the circuit zone so two trains can be run independently.
